Roberts Professor of Environmental Biology Pickford Auditorium, Bauer Center Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing life on Earth. Join Branwen Williams, George R. Roberts Professor of Integrated Sciences: Environmental Science, as she traces her journey researching the influence of burning fossil fuels on our planet. Professor Williams will share insights into the implications of these changes for society now and in the future, and provide tangible actions for mitigation and adaptation to provide optimism in this rapidly changing world. Students, come with your questions and curiosities to engage parents who have “been there, done that.” Join others by areas of interest when you arrive and dive into one-on-one or small group conversations. No pressure, just a chance to be yourself, meet other members of our community, and support students in their career discovery. |

Why has Vladimir Putin issued nuclear threats in the context of the Russian war in Ukraine, and are those threats credible? Join Professor Lisa Koch, winner of the 2023 Glen R. Huntoon Award for Superior Teaching and author of Nuclear Decisions: Changing the Course of Nuclear Weapons Programs, as she outlines past examples of threats and promises across the nuclear age as a foundation for thinking about how to interpret nuclear threats, and leaders’ responses to those threats. |

By providing academic, life skills, and career development programming, PEP aims to educate, empower, and transform the lives of incarcerated individuals with the assistance of over 4,000 college student and faculty volunteers throughout California and beyond.
