Venture Capital Program
The RLCIE Venture Capital Program will help prepare students at the 5Cs for roles in entrepreneurship, innovation, and venture capital. The three-month program will introduce students to key concepts and tools that venture capitalists use to evaluate companies and formulate investment theses. Prospective entrepreneurs and innovators will benefit by understanding how startups get evaluated, and prospective venture capitalists will gain insight into how VCs make investment decisions. Workshops will be led by Claremont alumni working in venture capital.
Students in the program will be grouped into teams of 2–4 people. Each team will investigate industries, technologies, and/or business ecosystems specified by the participating alumni with the goal of formulating an investment thesis. Teams will present their theses in a pitch competition. Past areas of investigation have included Fintech, Enterprise AI, Cybersecurity, eCommerce Enablement, and Data & Cloud Infrastructure.
