The Kravis Leadership Institute encourages and supports summer internships for CMC students. The focus of the KLI summer internship program is to provide a meaningful experience in an organization that provides CMC students with opportunities to learn and develop personal leadership skills and develop an increased appreciation for social responsibility. KLI internships are designed to enable students to work for social service organizations and combine their work experience with the academic requirement of the internship course.
Social Sector Internship Program
CMC students who are interested in domestic internships with social service organizations may apply for KLI support. Support may be provided for U.S. internships with government, non-governmental, and non-profit organizations.
- A KLI social sector internship should allow a CMC student involvement in the management of the organization and is developed specifically for this program (as opposed to existing internship positions).
- In addition, the internship should provide the student with meaningful responsibilities and allow the student to explore the leadership dynamics of the organization.
- Examples include Ashoka, Foundation for Women Warriors, and GivDapps

International Internship Program
CMC sophomores and juniors who wish to pursue transformative international internships that enhances cross-cultural understanding of leadership in the public (for-profit), governmental, or not-for-profit (social) sectors may apply for KLI support.
- A KLI transformative international internship should provide experiential exposure in an international setting and is developed specifically for this program (as opposed to using an organization that helps locate internships and charges a program fee).
- In addition, the internship should provide the student with meaningful responsibilities and allow the student to explore cross-cultural leadership. Internships must meet the requirements of CMC’s International travel policy.
- Examples include Salesforce, Tectonica, and Sage Corps

Partnered Internship Program
KLI has partnered with several high-impact nonprofit organizations to create summer internship opportunities for CMC students through the KLI Partnered Internship Program. Internships include awards to cover travel and living expenses associated with the internship.
- Selected interns will receive a stipend of up to $7,500 to assist with travel and living expenses associated with the internship.
- All participants are required to complete the requirements of INT 198, Internship, for academic credit.
- Examples include BRAC and Endeavor Global
