Robert A. Kleinhenz, Ph.D.

Robert Kleinhenz, Ph.D. has over 30 years of experience in urban and regional economics, with expertise in economic and workforce development, local industry analysis, and real estate economics. A regular contributor to the media, he has been interviewed by NPR, CNBC, the Economist, the Wall Street Journal, local radio and television stations, the Los Angeles Times, the Southern California News Group, and numerous other news outlets. In addition to his role as Faculty Research Fellow with the Lowe Institute, Dr. Kleinhenz is the Founder and Principal Economist with Kleinhenz Economics, he is on the faculty at Cal State Long Beach where he serves as the Director of the University’s Office of Economic Research, and he holds positions at other institutions in the region.  Kleinhenz holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, all in Economics.
