Linda Kroll has joined Claremont McKenna College as its new Vice President of Business and Chief Financial Officer.
An accomplished, strategic leader with extensive career experience in higher education, Kroll most recently served in various roles at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, including the last 14 years as Associate Vice President for Finance.
As a member of the President’s Executive Cabinet, Kroll will be primarily responsible for CMC’s annual operating budget, business functions, and financial strategy. She will also oversee multiple departments, including Finance, Information Technology Services, Dining Services, Student Accounts, Payroll, and Property Management, as well as contribute to various committees for both CMC’s Board of Trustees and The Claremont Colleges.
“I am humbled and honored to become a part of the CMC community and look forward to partnering with colleagues to prepare CMC to be an even deeper catalyst for academic excellence in the world for generations to come,” Kroll said.
Kroll earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy from Manchester University, a liberal arts college in North Manchester, Indiana—where she has also been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2016, including her current role as chair. She is a CPA with decades of experience in higher education, strategy, long-range financial planning and analysis, administrative and operational excellence, strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations, and talent development.
Kroll succeeds Erin Watkins, who also began her new role as Chief Operating and Financial Officer for Claremont Investment Fund (CIF) and Claremont Investment Management Company (CIMC) this month.
