William Stueck To Speak On U.S.-Korean Relations

William W. Stueck, distinguished research professor at the University of Georgia, will speak at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum on The Korean War: Legacy for US-Korean Relations, at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The lecture is free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come basis.

An historian with emphasis on U.S.-East Asia relations, Stueck's discussion will focus on the Korean War as the foundation of modern U.S.-Korean relations.

He received a Ph.D. from Brown University and has taught at Syracuse University, Purdue University, and New College of the University of South Florida. As a Senior Fulbright Scholar in 1995, he also taught at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul. Among his books are The Korean War: An International History (translated into Russian, Japanese, and Korean) and Rethinking the Korean War: A New Diplomatic and Strategic History. Stueck's talk is sponsored by CMC's Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies.
