Trustee David Dreier '75 Heads Gubernatorial Transition

Oct. 10 -- Congressman David Dreier '75 is profiled in today's New York Times, focusing on his role as head of Governor-elect Schwarzenegger's transition team. Dreier, a CMC Trustee, chairs the House Rules Committee and served as co-chair of the Schwarzenegger campaign. The article, by Sheryl Gay Stolberg, is available at www.nytimes.com.

"David Dreier is at the very center of American political leadership today. As chair of the House Rules Committee, he is a master of institutional detail. As a frequent guest on news channels, he is also a master of electronic politics," said Professor Jack Pitney, who was also interviewed for the Times piece. "He has conservative views and a moderate demeanor. He belongs to the House leadership, has close ties to the White House, and is now a major figure in California politics. It's hard to get much more important than that."
