Two hundred fifty-eight seniors received their bachelor's degrees during the College's 62nd Commencement exercises last month. Including those who graduated in September and December, the combined Class of 2009 numbered 281 students.
The Saturday, May 16 ceremonies honoring CMC's newest graduating class featured keynote speaker Surin Pitsuwan '72, Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Activities, as well as President Pamela Gann; Senior Class President Naomi Bagdonas '09; Gregory Hess, vice president for academic affairs, dean of the faculty, and the Russell S. Bock Chair of Public Economics and Taxation; student marshal Kyle Kinneberg '09; faculty marshal William L. Ascher, recipient of the G. David Huntoon Senior Teaching Award; Harry T. McMahon '75 P'08 '09, Board of Trustees chair; Benjamin Judge '09, who gave the Latin salutation; and Freya Lee '09, who gave the Benediction.
