Rose Institute Celebrates 30th Year with Conference on Citizen Initiatives

Claremont McKenna College's Rose Institute of State and Local Government will hold a conference and dinner on Thursday, Oct. 23, in honor of its 30th anniversary. The conference, Public Policy Formation by Citizen Initiative, will feature Sacramento Bee columnist Dan Walters; political consultant Anthony Quinn; CMC assistant professor of government, Ken Miller, an expert on ballot initiatives and direct democracy ; former Rose Institute board member, Steve Merksamer; and former president of the League of California Cities, John Russo.

The conference will take place on campus at Pickford Auditorium, Bauer Center. Registration opens at 12:30 p.m. and the conference will be held from 1:30 to 5:15 p.m. The conference and dinner are open to the public and free of charge for all CMC students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The cost for those outside the CMC community, the conference cost is $25, and dinner is $50.
