Pulitzer Prize-Winning Journalist David Broder
To Speak Sept. 16 on American Politics Beyond Recall

Washington Post columnist David Broder will speak on the topic, American Politics, Beyond Recall, at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum, at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16. Public seating is available on a first-come basis. For reservations within the CMC community, visit www.claremontmckenna.edu/mmca.
Broder was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for distinguished commentary, and has also been honored by the National Press Association and the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. In a 1990 survey by Washingtonian magazine, Broder was named "Hardest Working," "Least Ideological," and "Best Reporter," among more than 120 columnists. He has covered every national campaign and convention since 1960 and is a regular contributor to CNN's Inside Politics, also appearing frequently on Meet the Press and Washington Week in Review.
Broder is also the author or coauthor of seven books, including Democracy Derailed: Initiative Campaigns and the Power of Money. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago and has been a fellow at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Institute of Policy Sciences and Public Affairs at Duke University.
