Welcome back, CMC!
Despite a rare tropical storm warning for Southern California, students and families arrived in Claremont with bright smiles and sunny outlooks. From support staff to First-Year-Guides, the CMC community was more than ready to lend a helping hand. “Everyone is so warm and friendly,” said Hao Hao Yuan P’27, of Cave Creek, Ariz., who helped move in her son, Andrew Yuan ’27. “It has been a great experience.”
That’s certainly by design, with Orientation programs and events guiding new students, in particular, to feel “like an essential part of the CMC community from day one,” said MaryKate Jacobs, assistant dean of student engagement. “There are a lot of emotions that go into these initial moments at CMC. Yes, it will be challenging and academically rigorous here, but our goal is to let students know they are more than capable of succeeding—and there are so many people at CMC who will help them along the way!”
