Harry Jaffa, author of Crisis of the House Divided, has written what is considered "the best book ever written on Lincoln" according to Hadley Arkes of the Chicago Tribune. His sequel, A New Birth of Freedom, was acclaimed as, "a stunning work of scholarship and erudition" by the Washington Times. Jaffa, a Salvatori Research Professor of Political Philosophy at Claremont Men's College, has written several other books pertaining to Lincoln, including The Conditions of Freedom; How to Think About the American Revolution, and Original Intent and the Framer's of the Constitution: A Disputed Question.
