Hong-Koo Lee, former prime minister of South Korea and Korean ambassador to the United Kingdom, will visit the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum at CMC on Wednesday, April 13 to discuss Korea, Asia, and the United States. The public portion of the event begins at 6:45 p.m.
Lee, the Freeman Foundation Visiting Professor of Asian Affairs, earned his Ph.D. in political science from Yale University and served on the faculty at Seoul National University for 20 years. He was the South Korean ambassador to the United Kingdom (1991-93) and most recently to the United States (19982000). He also was a member of the Korean National Assembly and chairman of the then-ruling New Korea Party. His publications include a five-volume collected works.
