Football: Scenes from the Sixth Street clash

The 60th edition of the Sixth Street Rivalry between CMS and Pomona-Pitzer brought a huge crowd to campus for the game and the football festivities. Pomona-Pitzer prevailed in the end with a 29-28 overtime victory.

Before the game, alumni and friends gathered in Roberts Pavilion for the dedication of the head football coach’s office, named in honor of the 1970 SCIAC championship Stag football team (the first for CMS), former head coach John Zinda and CMS Hall of Famer Steve Endemano (HMC ’71). Also before the game, fans and alumni gathered for a tailgate. At halftime of the game, CMS’ back-to-back SCIAC championship football team (1986 and 1987) were recognized as were players from the last Pomona-Claremont football team.
