D.C. Alumni Volunteer Day

Members of the Washington, D.C., Chapter of the Claremont McKenna College Alumni Association are invited to participate in its Alumni Volunteer Day at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, benefiting Bread for the City, a D.C.-based nonprofit providing more than 13,000 low-income families with a holiday meal.

Donations of canned goods and/or cash for this cause will be accepted at the alumni chapter's Cure for the Common Holiday Party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 at the CMC Washington, D.C., Internship Program offices. Although canned items are preferred, a contribution of $26 allows Bread for the City to provide a complete turkey meal for a family of four.

Alumni participants on Saturday will gather at Bread for the City (located at 1640 Good Hope Road SE) to volunteer as needed.

The D.C. Alumni Volunteer Day is being held in conjunction with the 5C International Volunteer Daya larger effort by alumni of The Claremont Colleges to engage in community service projects across the country.
