John J. Pitney John J. "Jack" Pitney, professor of government, is an expert in California and national party politics and the author of The Art of Political Warfare and Congress' Permanent Minority? Republicans in the U.S. House. He is a frequent national commentator on political and campaign issues.

Kenneth P. Miller Kenneth P. Miller, assistant professor of government, is an expert in law/politics and California elections and ballot initiatives. Publications include The Populist Legacy: Initiatives and the Undermining of Representative Government.

Steven Frates A senior fellow at CMC's Rose Institute of State and Local Government, Steve Frates has extensive experience in public policy analysis, with emphasis on state and local government finance. He was commissioned earlier this year by Arnold Schwarzenegger to conduct a study on the efficacy of after-school programs, used during the campaign for Proposition 49.

Frederick R. Lynch, Associate Professor of Government, teaches a course on crowd behavior and political/social movements and is the author of The Diversity Machine, examining the social policy movement that successfully institutionalized valuing diversity programs in the workplace and throughout American society. He is a frequent media commentator and is currently researching his new book on the social movement potential of aging Baby Boomers.
