The Capitol Steps will perform at CMC's McKenna Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 27. At this time, ticketsrequired for admissionare soldout.
Capitol Steps is a troupe of current and former Congressional staffers who monitor events and personalities on Capitol Hill, in the Oval Office, and in other centers of power and prestige around the world and then take a humorous look at serious issues while providing a nationwide laugh for millions. Songs such as Edwards vs. Cheney (to the tune of Let's Call the Whole Thing Off), Fakey Purple Heart (Achy Breaky Heart) and Who'll Stop McCain (Who'll Stop the Rain) are but a few of the political satire tunes recorded by the troupe on 24 albums since 1984.
Cast members (most of whom have worked on Capitol Hill) are: Mike Loomis, Jenny Morris, Morgan Duncan, Tracey Stephens, Mike Tilford, Anne Willis Hill, Brian Ash, Andy Clemence, Janet Davidson Gordon, Kevin Corbett, Richard Paul, Elaina Newport, Bill Strauss, Jack Rowles, Mike Forrest, Ann Schmitt, Mike Carruthers, Brad Van Grack, Jamie Zemarel, Bari Biern, Mike Thornton, Nancy Dolliver, Delores Williams, Ann Johnson; and pianists Marc Irwin, Howard Breitbart, Emily Bell Spitz, Lenny Williams and David Kane.
Tickets for the Capitol Steps performance were available to CMC students, faculty, and staff through the Dean of Students Office, under the following guidelines:
*Two tickets per CMC I.D.
*One I.D. per person.
*Tickets offered on a first come, first served basis.
*Tickets will be offered to the general public beginning Thursday, Sept. 23.
