Former Congressman Howard Wolpe, director of the Africa Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C., will visit the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum on Tuesday, Nov. 16 to discuss, Challenges to Peacemaking in the Great Lakes Region of Africa. His lecture begins at 6:45 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Wolpe received a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has taught at the University of Michigan. Before becoming director of the Africa Program, Wolpe served seven terms as a member of Congress from Michigan.
