  Join Clemente Jimenez, Associate Vice President for Finance, and Michelle Chamberlain, Vice President for Advancement and Student Opportunities Dean of the Robert Day Scholars Program, as they tackle one of the most common questions alumni, parents, and friends of the institution have: why is my financial support necessary? Join us to discuss how the College sustains operations and allocates resources to optimize academic and campus life. If you have questions about the CMC budget or where philanthropy dollars go, then this is the session for you. Come with your questions, ready to engage in honest conversations about the need and impact of financial support.
   
• Do CMCers Have an Upper Hand in the Job Market?

Join Ursula Diamond, Director for Student Opportunities, and a panel of CMC staff, current seniors, and recent alumni as they explore these questions, share real-world success stories, and examine factors that contribute to career success.
   
• Social Life at CMC

  CMC students spend a lot of time thinking about community: the people they want to meet and get to know, the experiences they want to have together, and what it means for everyone to feel that they belong here. In this session, alumni will join Dianna “DT” Graves, VP for Student Affairs and members of the student body in a discussion about the evolution of CMC’s social life over the decades and how current students work with DOS to create social opportunities that facilitate fun and friendship.

  Join Jennifer Sandoval-Dancs, Associate Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid, for a thought-provoking session as we delve into the current factors influencing college admission, including heightened competition, holistic review processes, and the growing emphasis on diverse extracurricular achievements. Learn how our admissions criteria have shifted over the years and discover the new challenges and opportunities facing prospective students. Discover the importance of demonstrated leadership, intellectual curiosity, and alignment with the institution's values, and unravel the role of essays, recommendation letters, and interviews in assessing applicants.
   
• Health, Brain, Planet: Can CMC Revolutionize Science Education?

  Breakthroughs in genomics, neuroscience, and renewable energy come with increasingly complex societal, economic, political, legal, and ethical implications. Tomorrow’s legal experts, policymakers, consultants—not to mention CEOs—will need fluency to participate in a science-rich discourse that increasingly touches every decision. The Kravis Department of Integrated Sciences, rooted in CMC’s foundational liberal arts and leadership mission, is completely unique in its approach to organizing science education around socio-scientific grand challenges. Join Ran Libeskind-Hadas, Kravis Professor of Integrated Sciences: Computational Biology and Founding Chair, and a panel of current students who have completed the pilot class “Code of Life” as they explore the question: Will CMC’s integrated science department revolutionize science education?

  As the political intensity of the nation increases, the need to speak freely, listen well, and find common ground has become even more important. Claremont McKenna College is dedicated to developing a critical response to the educational imperative of our time: overcoming what divides us to solve the world’s most challenging problems. Through CMC’s core commitments to Freedom of Expression, Viewpoint Diversity, and Constructive Dialogue, students are learning the tools to listen respectfully, ask incisive questions, and engage with greater curiosity and openness to differences of opinion, strengthening the national practice of our democracy.
