City's General Plan Festival On Campus March 21

The city of Claremont will hold its second General Plan Community Festival from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 21 in McKenna Auditorium. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. The session is free and open to the public.

Event organizers say the festival offers community members an opportunity to review and discuss different development scenarios for the following General Plan focus areas of Baseline Ave., Foothill Blvd., Indian Hill corridor; I-10/San Jose Ave.; Baseline Avenue corridor; Foothill Blvd. corridor; and the former quarry areas south of Foothill and Baseline, and east of Claremont Blvd. and Monte Vista.

Comments from those attending the festival will be given to the General Plan Advisory Committee, responsible for developing recommendations for the preferred land uses for each of the focus areas. GPAC recommendations are then forwarded to the Citizens' Committee for Claremont (CCC), a committee comprised of those who participated in last summer's vision subcommittees.
