Associate professor of economics Manfred Keil has written an Op-Ed for the Tuesday, Aug. 28 issue of the San Diego Union-Tribune: Could Likability Factor Outweigh Economy in Election?
Written with Y.A. Shen 13, a research associate at the Lowe Institute of Political Economy at CMC and a mathematics and economics double major, the piece explores to what extent the economy impacts the 2012 election. "The answer is that it is not simply the economy, but intrinsic personal popularity and a perceived stance of the opponent that influence our voting habits," they write.
