California's Water Challenges Focus Of Rose Institute ConferenceJune 20 On Campus

New complexities and challenges facing the future of Southern California's water supply will be the focus of a daylong conference Friday, June 20, hosted by the Rose Institute of State and Local Government at Claremont McKenna College.

The conference, titled Southern California's Water Future: New Complexities, New Challenges, features a wide range of nationally noted experts, including: Bennett Raley, assistant secretary of water and science, Department of the Interior; Ronald Gastelum, president and CEO, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California; Richard Katz, senior advisor to Governor Gray Davis; James Stahl, general manager and chief engineer, County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County; and Wally Baker, senior vice president, Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation. Topics included within the conference will be storm water runoff, water growth and future scenarios, and water reliability.
