CARE Center Beliefs and Principles
A guiding set of objectives and principles ensures that the CARE Center is a space for expression, study, dialogue, and exploration of our intersecting social identities and how they inform the ways in which we live within, learn from, and engage with the world.Structural forces have separated, fragmented and polarized our society and national discourse and contribute to increased levels of segregation, disillusionment and division.
These forces and their deleterious consequences disable our ability to take on the major challenges of our time: economic growth and equality, violence and peace, disease and health, security and privacy, energy, and environmental sustainability. At Claremont McKenna, we believe we can and must resolve our differences and learn from one another to take on these and so many other challenging areas.
