Claremont McKenna College students are invited to trick-or-treat at select residences along Brooks Avenue, just south of Sixth Street, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31. The homes of participating faculty and staff will be designated with a sign.
"It's difficult to know how many students to expect, but we've purchased plenty of candy," says Vice President and Dean of Students Jeff Huang, whose residence at Sixth Street and Brooks Avenue will serve as the launch point. "Because it falls on a Friday, having a trick-or-treat activity would provide students something alternative to do on a weekend night. I imagine our students will have fun creating costumes for this and feeling like kids again."
If successful, Huang said it would be nice to include more neighborhood homes next Halloween.
In addition to student trick-or-treating, families are invited to bring their costumed children to the CMC senior apartments from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 for safe door-to-door trick-or-treating and Halloween games.
The apartments are located at 651 E. Sixth Street, with parking available along Claremont Boulevard.
Reservations for the student apartment trick-or-treating with children are requested. For more information, contact Lauren Ohata Lohata09@cmc.edu, 909-607-8300, or Maria del Rosario Alfaro in Heggblade Center.
