Professor Faggen's work on
Robert Frost Cited in
Times Literary Supplement

The work of Robert Faggen, the Barton and H. Andrea Neves Professor of Literature, is cited in the cover article of the Dec. 24, 2010 issue of the Times Literary Supplement. The article, written by Paul Muldoon, Howard G. B. Clark '21 Professor, Princeton University and Chair of the Peter B. Lewis Center for the Arts, analyzes the poem "Directive" by Robert Frost. Muldoon was the recipient of the 2003 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry.
Faggen has a long-standing research interest in poet Robert Frost, culminating in numerous publications on Frost's work, including Robert Frost and the Challenge of Darwin (1997), Early Poems of Robert Frost (1998), and The Cambridge Companion to Robert Frost (2001).
Muldoon cites Faggen's more recent work, The Notebooks of Robert Frost (2007), in his article, calling it a "magnificent edition." Faggen spent over five years examining and transcribing Frost's personal notebooks, which were then published. CMC Magazine printed an article about this project in Fall 2006. (Read the article here.) Faggen is the general editor of Frost's collected writings for Harvard University Press, and is currently completing a volume of Frost's letters.
