Professor Costanzo Wins National
Teaching and Mentoring Award

Professor of psychology Mark Costanzo is the recipient of the 2010 Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring Award from the American Psychology-Law Society.
The award recognizes teaching excellence in a variety of contexts with nominees judged on the basis of classroom teaching, student achievements, one-on-one mentoring, and teaching in the community. Since the prize was first awarded in 1996, only seven people have received the Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring honor.
Costanzo earned his doctorate from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His teaching interests include social psychology, research methods, psychology and law, and mediation and dispute resolution. His research explores issues such as social influence, nonverbal behavior, police interrogation, false confessions, and the death penalty.
The American Psychology-Law Society, Division 41 of the American Psychological Association, is an interdisciplinary organization devoted to scholarship, practice, and public service in psychology and law.
