Paul Rusesabagina, Hero Behind Oscar-Nominated Hotel Rwanda, Visits Feb. 28

Paul Rusesabagina, whose story is told in the award-winning film Hotel Rwanda, visits the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28 for a free public lecture on Hotel Rwanda: A Lesson Yet to Be Learned.
Rusesabagina, general manager at the Mille Collines Hotel in Kigali for almost the entire span of the genocide that occurred in Rwanda, is credited with saving the lives of more than 1,000 refugees. He served as special consultant to United Artists and Lion's Gate Films for the production of Hotel Rwanda, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role, for Don Cheadle's portrayal of Rusesabagina.
Rusesabagina is now involved in charitable organizations aiding survivors of the Rwandan massacre. His campus visit is co-sponsored by the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum and CMC's Center for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights.
