More than one hundred CMC students and alumni are expected to join together with President Gann and other special guests for a special event, Saturday, Feb. 5, to discuss diversity in the workplace and women's experiences in leadership. The brunch will be held from 10 am until 12:45 pm at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum. The Kravis Leadership Institute is coordinating this unique event for the CMC community as part the Women and Leadership Series coordinated by KLI, the Berger Institute for Work, Family and Children, the Robert Day School and other women administrators on campus.
Created to provide a special opportunity to engage the campus on the topics of women and leadership in an intimate format, this event specifically aims to provide a forum for men and women to explore components of diversity in the workplace and women's experiences in leadership roles across professions.
Selected students and invited alumni will have opportunities to meet and discuss their own leadership thoughts and experiences in small groups. Following brunch, President Gann, Jean Lipman-Blumen, Professor of Public Policy and Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Peter F. Drucker & Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management of Claremont Graduate University, and Doug Peterson '80 P'14, Chief Operating Officer of Citibank N.A. will dialogue about experiences of women in leadership roles. KLI's new Executive Director, Sarah Smith Orr, will moderate this intimate and unique leadership discussion.
