The second Biannual Claremont Entrepreneurial Conference, Piecing Together the Entrepreneurial Puzzle, aimed at both novice entrepreneurs and experienced business owners alike, will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 in CMC's Bauer Center. The daylong event is presented by the Claremont Entrepreneurial Society, in partnership with the Kravis Leadership Institute and the Robert A. Day 4+1 BA/MBA Program, and will include discussions on leadership techniques, ethics, social entrepreneurship, venture capital, and personal traits that lead to success.
Students, faculty, and members of the business community are invited to attend. The event is free for students of The Claremont Colleges, but students must reserve seating with a $10 deposit. The conference includes lunch and snacks throughout.
Among the featured speakers is Ashwin Navin '99, co-founder and president of San Francisco-based BitTorrent, Inc., a maker of high-speed, high-quality Internet content distribution technology; Ryder Todd Smith '96, senior vice president of Mavent Inc.; Lawrence "Chip" Goodman '72, CEO of School Link Technologies and co-founder of Project ECHO; and Emily Chan '95, executive director of Project ECHO.

The Claremont Entrepreneurial Society was originally founded at Claremont McKenna College in 2001 as a vehicle to foster the entrepreneurial spirit at CMC. The club has expanded into a 5-college organization and continues to promote student understanding of business, create networking opportunities for students and alumni, brainstorm and implement new product ideas, and organize events such as the Entrepreneurial Conference.
