Jean Yarbrough is professor of government and the Gary M. Pendy, Sr. Professor of Social Sciences at Bowdoin College. A recipient of two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, she teaches political philosophy and American political thought. Active on numerous editorial boards, Yarbrough also is the author of many books, including most recently Theodore Roosevelt and the American Political Tradition (2012), which won the Richard E.
