U.S. News & World Report 2010 Rankings Released

U.S. News and World Report today released its 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges. Claremont McKenna College is ranked 11th overall among the nation's 266 liberal arts colleges surveyed, retaining the same position as last year. Other key criteria rankings for CMC are: fifth in Faculty Resources; sixth in Admission Selectivity; 14th in Graduation and Retention; 15th in Financial Resources; and 27th in Alumni Giving. CMC's graduation rate of 94% is the fourth highest in the nation just behind Williams College (96%) and Amherst and Pomona Colleges, both at 95%, according to the report.

Among liberal arts colleges, U.S. News also ranked CMC seventh in its "Great Schools, Great Prices" list and fifth on its "Least Debt" list for the Class of 2008.

U. S News & World Report measures peer perceptions, student selectivity attributes, graduation rate performance, and alumni giving among other areas. This ranking, along with others conducted throughout the year, is but one indicator of a college's quality and impact.
