Sweets Demo Set with Ath Pastry Chef Sid Vichaita

As part of a continuing series of lectures and events, staff and faculty are invited to attend a confections cooking demonstration led by Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum pastry chef Sid Vichaita at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 at the Athenaeum.

"Valentine's Day does not only have to be about giving to someone else, but can also be a time to do something unique and fun for ourselves. What better event for the month of February than a sweet confections cooking demonstration?" says Assistant Director of Off-Campus Study Kristen Mallory, who chairs the Claremont McKenna Activities Committee (CMAC), which is organizing the event.

The demonstration is free, but due to limited space, reservations are requested by contacting Mallory at: kristen.mallory@claremontmckenna.edu, or, extension 18267.

Prior CMAC sponsored brown-bag lectures and events included a lecture in November by Professor Jonathan Petropoulos on the research for his newest book, Royals and the Reich, and a wellness session with Dr. Rebecca Kornbluh, M.D., director of the Monsour Counseling Center of The Claremont Colleges. CMAC also is organizing teams for the Feb. 26 Race for the Cure, held at the Rose Bowl to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Additional events will be announced.
