The American Jazz Institute and the Gould Center for Humanistic Studies will host a spring jazz concert featuring bassist Rufus Reid, playing the music of Tadd Dameron, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21 in Pickford Auditorium.
Reid, who has performed and recorded with such jazz masters as Gene Ammons, Eddie Harris, Sonny Stitt, Dexter Gordon, Bill Evans, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Farmer, and Lee Konitz, will lead an all-star sextet in playing the works of pioneering bebop composer and arranger Tadd Dameron. Reid will be joined for the evening by Ron Stout (trumpet), Jerry Pinter (tenor sax), Gary Foster (alto sax), Dave Woodley (trombone), and Joe LaBarbera (drums).
Pickford Auditorium is located in Bauer South, on CMC's campus.
