The Roberts Environmental Center released a series of reports detailing the analysis of the social responsibility reporting efforts of many of the world's top corporations. The seven reports contain compilations of Pacific Sustainability Index scores evaluating the environment and social reporting of the largest companies on the 2008 Fortune Global 500 and Fortune 1000 lists in the sectors of: motor vehicles and parts; forest and paper products; industrial farm equipment; consumer food, food production, and beverages; telecommunications, network, and peripherals; energy industry; and utilities, gas, and electric industries. The research is based exclusively on information found on the company web sites and uses the Pacific Sustainability Index to evaluate the environmental and social reporting of the companies.

Top scores were earned by Mirant (energy sector); Pinnacle West Capital (utilities sector); Toyota and General Motors (motor vehicles and parts sector; Stora Enso (forest and paper products sector); ABB (industrial and farm equipment sector); Coca Cola (Consumer food, food production, and beverages sectors); and France T?l?com and Vodafone (telecommunications, network, and peripherals sectors).
