Soprano Mija Kang, who has starred in La Boheme and Turandot and is a visiting professor of voice at UCLA, will perform A Recital of Arias and Art Songs at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum on Wednesday, Feb. 2. The 6:45 p.m. event is free and open to the public.
Kang's program includes works by Bellini, Caccini, Dvorak, Puccini, and Schubert, as well as several Korean art songs. She will be accompanied by pianist Judith Hansen of UCLA, and clarinetist Gary Gray of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
Kang's performance is cosponsored by the Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies and The Family of Benjamin Z. Gould Center for Humanistic Studies.
