The Orange County Chapter of the Claremont McKenna College Alumni Association will host An Evening at the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer game against Toronto FC at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the 27,000-seat Home Depot Center, located on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills.
"Student reaction to this trip has been phenomenal," says Claremont McKenna College Social Life Committee chair Brittany Ruiz '08, who has been working since spring to organize the Galaxy event for CMC students. "Tickets sold very quickly, and there is a waiting list for those still hoping to get attend."
Ruiz says she knew that excitement about Galaxy's star David Beckham would guarantee a successful sports outing among students and alumni of the College.
"Reaction to this event has been great," says Josh Walter '01, associate director of alumni relations.
Although Beckham isn't expected to play due to a recent injury, Ruiz says she is working on a possible meet-and-greet with some of the Galaxy players.
