Lee Hamilton, Former Congressman And International Relations Leader, To Discuss Major U.S. Foreign Policy Challenges

Former U.S. Congressman Lee Hamilton will discuss Major U.S. Foreign Policy Challenges on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum at 12:15 p.m. The lecture is free and open to the public, and seating is available on a first-come basis. The Athenaeum is located at 385 East Eighth Street, at the intersection of Eighth and Amherst Streets in Claremont.
Hamilton served in Congress for 34 years as a representative from Indiana (D-9th) and chaired the Committee on Foreign Affairs (now the Committee on International Relations). His areas of interest included promoting democracy and market reform in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, as well as promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
Hamilton has served as director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars since January 1999. He is also director of the Center on Congress Project at Indiana University, whose mission is to educate citizens about the function and importance of Congress.
