Google Senior VP Jonathan Rosenberg '83 To Discuss Technological Innovation

Jonathan Rosenberg '83, Google Senior Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, will discuss "Inside the Black Box: Technological Innovation at Google," during a lunchtime lecture at the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum on Wednesday, Feb. 27. The public portion of the program begins at noon; seating is free, on a first-come basis.

Rosenberg returns to campus as part of the Athenaeum's continuing series showcasing the successful careers of Claremont McKenna alumni. At Google, Rosenberg oversees the design, creation, and improvement of the Internet-giant's product line, ranging from consumer products to business and publishing services, and directs the teams with a special focus on delivering exceptional user experiences, continuous innovation, and highly relevant, accountable, and untraditional marketing.

Rosenberg's role with Google reflects his many years of experience in the fields of information services, software, and online consumer services. Before joining Google in 2002, he was a member of an extensive array of innovative Internet product development teams. He was the founding member of @Home's product group and served as senior vice president of online products and services after the merger of Excite and @Home. Prior to that, Rosenberg managed the eWorld product line for Apple. Earlier, he was director of product marketing for Knight Ridder Information Services in Palo Alto, where he directed development of one of the first commercially deployed online relevance-ranking engines and menu-driven Boolean search services for consumers.

Rosenberg graduated Phi Beta Kappa from CMC in 1983, obtaining a degree with honors in economics, before receiving his MBA from the University of Chicago.
