What’s better than having an enthusiastic, hands-on volunteer putting time and effort into your non-profit? Answer: Having a committed pre-professional donate their valuable human capital skills to measurably increase your efficacy and create a lasting impact. SOURCE Non-Profit Consulting, based at Claremont McKenna College, has grown its student involvement to 30 highly skilled employees since 2005 and offers a wide array of consulting services that include program evaluation, marketing analysis, and development. This student-run organization, whose pro-bono work has impacted thousands of individuals over the past 7 years, seems to be ahead of the curve. It’s one of the only student-run non-profit consulting groups in the U.S. and is now a pledged Billion+ Change organization. Billion+ Change seeks to engage corporations around the nation to do pro-bono work for non-profits, in an effort to spread the benefits of skills-based volunteerism and educate corporations on the professional development that employees gain by doing charitable work. This year, SOURCE is looking to continue expanding its community impact and student development with the help of funding from the City of Claremont and the Kravis Leadership Institute.
