The room was charged with energy and anticipation as students filed into the Ath for its election night festivities. Chef Dave's menu of mouth watering traditional American fair included Ann Romney's Meat Loaf Cakes and Chicago style Deep dish pizza.
Wolf Blitzer's voice coming from the giant screen was muffled by the enthusiastic banter of a mostly student crowd. Ath fellow David Leathers '15 encouraged heckling and politically charged outbursts and the students in attendance were happy to oblige.
While eyes were glued mostly to the screen in anticipation of state projections from states like Florida and Ohio, guests also looked to our own experts for analysis. Andrew Busch, the Crown Professor of Government and George R. Roberts Fellow, and Associate Professor of Government Kenneth Miller were on hand to offer just that and as always take questions. Watch the video and hear some of what they had to say as polls closed in the east.
While the event concluded before the climactic moment of Obama's projected reelection, the evening felt complete with engaging political discussion over delicious food with friends.
