New and returning students will be treated to improved eating environments and a few more menu options this fall, in time for the first day of classes on Tuesday, Aug. 31. Both Collins Dining Hall and The Hub underwent summertime makeovers that included new ambiance and menu selections.
Returning students will also notice that Collins has a fresher, brighter look, thanks to a $470,000 overhaul handled by Webb Design, including new ceiling tiles, updated lighting treatments, new carpet and transitional slate flooring, wall coverings and new chairs and refinished tables. The budget for the Collins facelift includes a contribution of $70,000 from Bon Appetit, the College's contract food-service provider, to update the serving area, which features new ceiling tiles, new lighting, re-facing of cabinets, and new tile flooring in the dining room.
The Hub feature a sports bar ambiance, with pool tables and photo blow-ups of victorious CMS athletes, and dining choices including chicken wings, burgers and fries, grilled subs and sandwiches, and salads.
