CMS Women's Soccer Coach In L.A. Sol Championship

Keri Sanchez, head coach for the CMS women's soccer team, will be among The Los Angeles Sol team members looking to win the Women's Professional Soccer championship game against Sky Blue FC at The Home Depot Center in Carson on Saturday, Aug. 22. Game time starts at 1 p.m. (Tickets may still be purchased by contacting 1-877-4-SOL-TIX.)

The Sol captured the title in its inaugural regular season of Women's Professional Soccer, finishing 12-3-5 during the 20-game regular season.

Sanchez, a defender on The Sol, joined the staff at CMC in 2004 and, in her professional years, has shared the fields with such legendary American stars as Mia Hamm, Michelle Akers, April Heinrichs, and Julie Foudy all members of the U.S. Women's National Team. She made her international debut in 1991 vs. Yugoslavia, and was a member of the U.S. National Team pool from 1991-1994.

Sanchez is a graduate of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, where she majored in physical education while competing on four NCAA championship soccer teams. While at Chapel Hill she earned various honors as a player, including All-American for three years, and captain/MVP her senior season. She received a master's in exercise physiology from the University of Oregon.
