CMS Swimming and Diving: SCIAC championships, Feb. 17-19

The CMS men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to the Cerritos Aquatics Center Feb. 17-19 for the 2005 SCIAC championships, which will decide the 2005 final SCIAC standings and provide a final opportunity for swimmers to make the cuts for nationals in March.

"We're very excited for the SCIAC Championships this week. We've prepared to be at our best, and the electric atmosphere of the Cerritos Aquatic Center always brings out great performances," said CMS swimming coach Charlie Griffiths.

An expected highlight will be the competition between CMS and the University of Redlands teams. At the time of their final dual meet on Feb. 5 at Redlands, both teams had performed undefeated throughout the season. Athenas won the competition 135-108, finishing with a perfect record of 9-0 overall and 7-0 in SCIAC competition. The Stags lost to Redlands, 127-115, finishing 6-3 overall, and 6-1 in SCIAC.
