Author, biologist, and UCLA professor of geography Jared Diamond will visit the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum on Wednesday, Sept. 27, to discuss his forthcoming book, Collapse, which examines how previously prosperous civilizations committed environmental suicide. His lecture, made by possible by the David E. French Lectureship Fund, begins at 6:45 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
