Athenaeum to Host PoliticalCommentator and Editor William Kristol

On Oct. 13, William Kristol will visit the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum and discuss The Future of American Politics: Obama, the Tea Party, and the 2010 and 2012 Elections. William Kristol is the founder and editor of The Weekly Standard and a well-known conservative commentator and author. Known for his insightful political analysis, Kristol is a regular panelist on “Fox News Sunday” and an analyst for Fox News. He is the co-editor of The War Over Iraq: Saddam's Tyranny and America's Mission (2003).
Kristol played a crucial role in the 1994 Republican congressional victory, having led the Project for the Republican Future. He was chief of staff for Vice President Dan Quayle and served Secretary of Education William Bennett under President Reagan. Prior to his work in the nation's capital, he taught politics at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Kristol earned his A.B. and Ph.D. from Harvard University.
