Applications Available For ITAB Trip

Students who've ever dreamed of becoming the next high-tech entrepreneur or have considered making connections for future careers in technology are encouraged to apply for the Second Annual Silicon Valley Information Technology Advisory Board Networking Trip, scheduled Jan. 7-12.

Held annually during the last week of winter break, the trip provides students an opportunity to explore the diversity of career paths in the realm of technology through contact with CMC alumni, parents, and friends working in Silicon Valley at such companies as Cisco, Sun Microsystems, Google, and Weston Presidio. Participants will not only tour the companies, but interact with alumni in such tech fields as law, management, finance, human resources, and programming.

The networking trip also will include a cocktail reception in conjunction with the Silicon Valley Chapter of the CMC Alumni Associationwith guest Jonathan Rosenberg '83, Google Senior Vice President of Product Management and Marketing and conclude with a farewell dinner hosted by the chaperones.

Students who have demonstrated an interest in either the computing technology field, or who have worked for the ITS department, are encouraged to apply. Last year's participants included Arjun Lall '07 and Ian Hafkenschiel '08, two of the four CMCers behind this month's launch of Fantasy Congress online (www.fantasycongress.us).

Those accepted to the ITAB program must provide their own transportation to and from the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. While in San Jose, all trip-related transportation will be provided by ITAB.

Applications for the networking trip are available in Poppa Lab, RS 204, RS 012, the Story House student mailroom, or online: http://itab.claremontmckenna.edu/trip/application2007.pdf.
