Secondary School Preparation

The CMC Admission Committee tries to consider the whole person while reviewing an application. There is no formula. Your high school record is the most important aspect of your application, but very strong consideration is also given to your extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation and standardized test scores. Competitive candidates for admission pursue the most demanding course work possible and receive strong grades. The following are the minimum secondary school requirements:
  1. four years of English;
  2. three (preferably four) years of mathematics;
  3. at least three years of a foreign language (this can be three total years or up to the third level);
  4. at least one year of history;
  5. at least two years of science (Management Engineering candidates and prospective science majors should have taken physics and chemistry).
