Doug Peterson is the president and CEO of McGraw Hill Financial. He was the President of Standard & Poor's, a leading global rating agency with operations in 23 countries covering the global financial and credit markets. He joined Standard & Poor's in September 2011, after having spent over 25 years with Citigroup in a variety of business and operating roles. He had most recently been the Chief Operating Officer for Citibank, N.A., Citigroup's largest operating subsidiary, with a presence in over 100 countries. In a previous role from 2004 to 2010, Doug was the CEO of Citigroup Japan, having rebuilt the franchise after a serious breakdown of controls. During his time in Japan, Doug completed the largest cross-border acquisition in the history of Japan when Citigroup bought Nikko Cordial Securities. Doug had previously been the Chief Auditor of Citigroup, working directly for the independent members of the board on the Audit Committee. He held previous positions as the country manager in Uruguay and Costa Rica as well as positions as a Corporate Banker at the beginning of his career in Argentina and New York.
