Faculty Summer Grants 2013

The Berger Institute faculty summer research grants support and encourage faculty summer research on projects related to issues of work and family. Berger Institute faculty summer research grants will include a limited number of awards in the amount of $4,000 each with additional funding for student research assistants of $3,000 each. Student research assistants should be employed in meaningful and valuable roles in the research agenda.

The awarded faculty members are required to provide a short report of their summer scholarly activities at the beginning of the fall semester, submit a 500-1000 word article of their summer scholarly activity to be published in the Berger Institute Newsletter in the spring semester (the newsletter article may be written by the faculty fellow or in collaboration with the student research assistant), and the completed research paper will also become a part of the Berger Institute Working Paper series posted on the Berger Institute website.

Research Assistants 2012-13

Research assistants work with faculty and staff on research projects assisting with literature review, data collection, data analysis, and research. Research experience and knowledge of research methods and statistics is a plus. Research assistants also provides administrative and clerical support for faculty and staff on various projects and events, and general office assistance including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, telephone calls, photocopying, processing mailings, errands, etc. Research assistants often have the opportunity for writing, publishing, and presenting research.

Berger Institute Fellowship 2012-13

The Berger Institute Fellowship supports and encourages student research on projects related to issues of work and family. The recipient is required to conduct research under the supervision of, or in collaboration with, a CMC faculty member. Moreover, the Berger Institute Fellow is required to complete a research report and present their findings to the Berger Institute Advisory Board in the spring semester. The fellowship award is $1,000 (one award).
