Individual Career Counseling
We offer individual career counseling to alumni as needed and as it can be accommodated in our counselors' schedules. Counseling is done by major, job focus and level of experience. Individuals focusing on the environment, philosophy, the sciences or government meet with Sarah Park, those in the humanities, languages, media, music, religious studies, arts or who are considering going into law, work with Jason Jeffrey, Amanda Stevens counsels International Relations and Psychology majors, and those in business or economics, or with over 7 years of work experience, work with Diana Seder.
Job Listings for Alumni
Many jobs for alumni are posted on CMConnect, our online recruiting system and job board. Jobs are also posted on the CMC Alumni Association LinkenIn page. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to become a member of that auspicious group of 2000+ alums as it is an active and useful site.
Many alumni are familiar with CMConnect and will simply continue using the login they used as a student. For those who do not have an account, access the CMConnect link, and when you reach the CMConnect site, click on the Alumni Registration button. Once you are verified as an alumna/us, you will be able to create your account. Please fill out your profile completely. When you have finished creating your profile, you will be able to view the job listings and use the other features found on CMConnect (research tools GOINGLOBAL and Vault Career Insider; interviewing practice software InterviewStream, case preparation software CQ Interactive, and national databases JOBcentral, SimplyHired, Indeed, Google, etc.).
Electronic resources are an important part of the job search process, but they are not the most effective means of finding employment. There are large hidden job markets that are best explored through personal contacts, professional associations and relationships (networking! See next section — CMC Online Alumni Directory!).

Online Alumni Directory
Fellow alumni are available to talk to you about their jobs, organizations, and industries as well as offer advice about how to find work and develop your career. Conducting informational interviews can be a very helpful activity, since it provides you with both information and personal contacts. The Alumni Directory can be accessed through the Alumni Gateway. Just click on Online Alumni Directory and log in with your alumni username and password. If you don't know your username and password, please contact the Alumni Relations Office at alumni@cmc.edu or (909) 621-8097. We also encourage you to get involved with a variety of networking opportunities that are offered by the Alumni Relations Office and the Alumni Chapters. For more information, please visit the CMC Alumni Association Chapters page.
Assessments
We offer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strong Interest Inventory (SII), StrengthsQuest and CareerLeader-College (CL-C) to assist you in clarifying your career-related needs. These tests can be taken online and interpreted by a trained, experienced career counselor in person or by telephone. Please contact your career counselor for a referral.
